I was recently promoted to a new/higher-level positions. Shortly thereafter, the organization reclassified positions and my new role was classified at the same level as my prior position. My pay increase remained but the allowable percentage for my bonus was reduced back to my prior level. My supervisor appeared to have been surprised by the recent change and was very sympathetic when they informed me of the change. Realizing that this was a decision from higher ups, how should I address this with my supervisor and ask that I be restored to the level that was offered with the new job offer?
